About AutoTech Prep
AutoTech Prep helps working technicians and students figure out which ASE certification test to take and how to actually study for it. We are an independent study resource — not the testing body, and not affiliated with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
The site started with one frustration: the official test descriptions tell you a test exists, but not which one fits where you are, what counts toward Master, what it costs this year, or what the questions actually probe. Our test finder and study guides are built to answer those questions in plain shop language.
Who writes this
Content is produced and maintained by the AutoTech Prep Editorial Team. We do not publish under invented expert personas or fake credentials. Instead, every guide is checked against the official ASE test task lists at ase.com and authoritative service-information references, and revised when ASE updates a task list, fee, or rule.
How we make money
The test finder and study guides are free. We are building a paid ASE practice product; when it launches, some pages will link to it. That does not change how we describe tests, fees, or requirements — those follow the official source regardless.
